Hematocrit
The share of your blood made up of red blood cells.
If it's high
Often reflects dehydration or high red cell production.
- Enough water through the day
If it's low
Usually moves together with haemoglobin and suggests anaemia.
- Iron-rich foods: spinach and other greens, lentils, rajma, chana, soya, eggs, fish or lean meat
- Vitamin C with meals (amla, guava, orange, lemon) to help absorb iron
